Sunbeam started the tale of pistons in 1993 by setting up a state of art plant. In the year 1998, Sunbeam, entered into technical collaboration with Honda Foundry Co. Ltd., of Japan, the world class leaders in manufacturing pistons for international brand HONDA.

Since its commercial production in 1999, the piston plant has witnessed a remarkable growth. Beginning with 0.4 million, now its installed capacity has reached 2 million. In short span of time, Sunbeam Auto Piston Plant has created a niche for itself in the automotive segment in the country to emerge as one of leading player in piston manufacturing for both the two wheeler and four wheeler segments.

Now the objective is to double this capacity by the year 2005.
